making-good-people-helpless-wont-make-bad-people-harmlessBetween July 2014 and July 2015, private citizens who used firearms to stop criminal attacks and saved at least 283 potential victims in 2015 according to a Daily Caller News Foundation analysis. In this page, they have a really cool interactive graphic feature. Clicking the demographics boxes will narrow your results to see specific data points.
Obama stubbornly keeps trying to push his failed gun control agenda. He quotes more than 30,000 gun deaths in a year, omitting that 60 percent are suicides, while 3 percent are accidents, and the rest are related to gang/drug violence in urban ares. Yet the progressive liberal main stream media only focuses on random mass shootings which are rare compare to other most common types mention above. While most of those mass shootings occurred in gun free zones.
How ludicrous that they turn the focus from a lone white psychopathic church shooter (in South Carolina), to a race war, and the attack on the confederate flag? What about those so-called ‘Muslim extremist’ attack scores of people, yet we don’t blame all Muslims, we don’t attack their flags.

Higher civilian gun ownership, equates to lower gun violence

Here are the factual data from the CDC there were 7 firearm-related homicides for every 100,000 Americans in 1993 (see light blue line in chart). By 2013 (most recent year available), the gun homicide rate had fallen by nearly 50% to only 3.6 homicides per 100,000 population.
Contrary to what the left wing mainstream media and gun-control advocates say.

Most people who make such claim that the US gun violence and death surpass countries such as, the UK, Norway or Australia. They all failed to realize that they are comparing over 300 million people vs 25 million. You have to compare per capita. Compare the continental US vs the whole Europe now go figure…

Choosing The Best Defensive Rifle Ammo .223/5.56

223

Last article I wrote about Choosing the Best Defensive Handgun Ammo. Now let’s take a look at finding the best self-defense ammo for your AR-15 platform rifle for those of you who consider using one as a defensive firearm. The approved list of 5.56/.223 by Dr. Gray Roberts who is the world’s leading authority on would ballistics, his information is credible. I recommend using barrier blind loads (in particular the Federal Fusion line due to the lower price, availability, and performance is inline with Gold Dot and other LEO bonded .223 rounds) over other types since you don’t know what type of physical environment you might be around when the unexpected happens.

Take a look of what kind of damage a .223 (contains graphic contents) round does to the body You won’t see this type of wounds with pistol.

Concealed Carry, the Ladies Edition

blue-pattern-shirtEveryday more and more women are buying guns and getting their concealed carry permits. This means that more will start to carry. But what are your options? For sure I don’t advice anyone to carry their gun in their purse. The purse can easily become detach from you, thieves always target your purse. You might forget it somewhere, your child might put his or her hands in. Nothing like carry your gun securely on your cancanconcealmentpersons.

Defensive Shooting Myths and Misconceptions: “I shoot that gun really well.”

sheild

As most of us know that today’s common caliber handgun rounds are not true power stoppers. Premium hollow points does help a lot. Just because your caliber preference is for the largest you can control and shoot in a relax state of mind at the range, it doesn’t mean you will effectively neutralize your assailant in the shortest time possible while under stress. Your are in a tense moment, you got a moving target advancing towards you, the faster you can place those followup shots on target, the better. The more rounds your pistol can hold is a plus. Remember, your goal is to stop the threat ASAP and survive!
Speed, precision, accuracy are the goals and recoil is they magic factor. The less the recoil the better you can control your gun. Those who can control a 10mm or a .44 magnum will probably be able to better control smaller calibers. “Shooting well” in the defensive context means being able to control realistic strings of fire, not single shots.

This is a great article and a must read for anyone who owns a handgun and carries one daily for self defense.

H&K VPN9 Torture test (video)

VP9TT

A lot of folks out there really like the H&K’s new striker fired pistol, the VP9. It feels great in your hands and shoots very accurate. But before you get one and fully trust your life with it, let’s find out how reliable it is by doing some torture tests. Thinking you’ll never go through such harsh environments or situations where your gun gets thrown, don’t be so sure that it will never happen. I never like to jump on a new product that just gets introduce in to the market. It needs to have a longer track record. I would say at least 4 years (but that’s a person preference) just like with the the M&P Shield. On the other hand, the Glock 43 is probably on great reliable gun but it just came out.

This torture test was done by The Military Arms Channel.
Can the VP9 take a beating and still function like the Smith & Wesson M&Ps and Glocks? Time to find out!
