The three most popular self-defense 9mm loads out there and we civilians all want to have these in our carry pistols. OK, the Gold Dot G2 happen to be in his testing but I’ll be looking at the Federal HST and Winchester Ranger T Series closer.

You just bought your first AR-15 rifle, or owned one for sometime but have a shallow knowledge of it’s fundamentals and defensive use. You heard about some fun carbine defensive tactical courses but knowing you don’t qualify because of not having the basic solid foundation skill set require to operate this rifle platform in the way it’s meant to. I had a colleague said he doesn’t need a gun or skills to protect himself from others. His comments were, “I always stay out of trouble, stay away from bad neighborhoods, mind my own business. If someone mugs me, I’ll just comply with them and give them my wallet.” Well, how naive and uninformed you are buddy. Criminals pick when and where, sometimes you can’t avoid them, you just have to be ready. Continue reading “Complying Doesn’t Mean You Will Be Safe” »
It’s seems to be a more frequent occurring that we hear people bringing up conversations about their physician having them fill out a questionnaire in regards to their health care plan asking about guns which has nothing to do with the subject whatsoever. The “Affordable Health Care Act” is over a 1000 pages to mask it’s dangerous doses of personal rights violations and gun control is one of the main bullet points.
At my state gun rights group (VCDL) monthly meeting, someone associated to the Doctors for Responsible Gun Ownership gave us all attendees handouts with information on what steps you can take to deal with when your doctor asks you about your guns. I want to share it to as many people as I can. Feel free to pass along this valuable information.

Unlike the lighter 22 cal (.223/5.56×45) which relies on high velocity for it’s devastating thermal ballistic results. You read it right again. According to a more recent study by Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy, which cites the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the U.S National Academy of Sciences and the United Nations International Study on Firearms Regulation, the more guns a nation has, the less criminal activity.
The study came from the Harvard Journal of Law, that bastion of extreme, Ivy League liberalism. Titled Would Banning Firearms Reduce Murder and Suicide?, the report “found some surprising things.”
It concludes the virtually unpublicized research report by attorney Don B. Kates and Dr. Gary Mauser. But the key is firearms in the hands of private citizens. Continue reading “Harvard University Study Reveals More Guns Equates to Less Crime” »
A brief rundown on what you should do in case of an active shooter(s) invent. This is taken from a retired Virginia Sheriffs Department captain.
1. At the first inkling, get in motion! Don’t hesitate, nor dither. Don’t freeze and stay in one place. Terrorists are weakest and least organized at the very beginning, as their plan is just starting to unfold. That is the time to make your move, whatever form that takes. As terrorists consolidate their control, your options will rapidly dry-up!
This brave and skillful Chinese store owner seems to know what she was doing. The bad guy was already up next to her with his drawn gun. Question, would you draw your gun on an already drawn gun? That’s probably not a good idea. There are few ways you can distract the bad guy to gain distance before you draw your gun and shoot, but what she did worked out great for her.
