There is no reason not to carry a basic trauma medkit as part of your EDC gear. It’s not just for gun shot wounds. What if someone stabs your upper arm for trying to steal your purse? Let’s say you gotten into a car accident and somehow severed an artery, you have about 2-3 minutes before you bleed out and die. The ambulance is six minutes away which by then you would passed and die. Having a tourniquet handy and knowing how to quickly use it by closing that time gap is key to your survival. If you are able to stop the bleeding before the paramedics arrive you’re good to go. Unfortunately we can’t put tourniquet on our necks. Once at the hospital they’ll take it from there. I don’t rely on paramedics having a tourniquet, know how to quickly use it and reaching to me in time.
Been watching Designated Survivor since the beginning. Within the first 5 episodes I already noticed it is somewhat of a left wing show that tries to slowly push their agenda every now and then. For those who watch the show would know what I’ll be talking about. They presented a political left tone when it comes to the environment and Muslim immigration few episodes ago. Back in September, American Thinker also pointed out this TV show’s tone and possible goals, “Designated Survivor: Should it be designated as Democrat propaganda?” I looked the other way from their political view and focus on the fun part (main story line) which is finding out who and how deep the conspiracy goes that killed the President, Vice President, Speaker down to most of congress since the catastrophic attack of the Capital building occurred during the State of the Union. For you fella ladies out there.
Thumbs up for this lady who decided not to be a victim. Learn how to use a knife to save yourself from being attack by a boogieman. In some situations a gun might not be the right tool for various reasons. I recommend carrying the Ka-Bar TDI straight knife in the Phlster sheath on your hip or appendix position for easy access and rapid deployment. In today’s world this can happen to anyone anywhere, keep your head up!
We started the year by attending Lobby Day to attending each pro and anti gun bills in the GA sessions to writing emails and calling ours legislators about the bills we support or opposed. We are almost at the end of the road for the 2017 legislation. Good news is all anti-gun bills were buried this year and several good gun bills got sign in to law by our governor who is a man of his party’s agenda. He did vetoed couple of good life saving gun bills such as, HB 1582, Campbell, military 18 and older can apply for a CHP and SB 1299 by Vogel, protective orders become CHPs. Ironically the Democrats talk so much about protecting women and children but only if it politically concerns their interest. We tried to override several good bills that were vetoed but failed yesterday.
I was watching the feeds yesterday from Philip Van Cleave, the president of the Virginia Citizens Defense League who was at the General Assembly watching the whole showdown.
Snippets taken from Philip’s Facrbook posting. Continue reading “2017 Virginia Legislation Wrap Up – Gun Bills” »
